To be Schmoozed or not to be Schmoozed…
Jul 19th, 2007 by Beverly
I’ve been schmoozed! Err, or you’ve been schmoozed! I’m so conschmoozed!
Yes, it’s true. My gift for schmoozing has finally been recognized and I was handed “The Power of Schmooze” award.
“The Power of Schmooze” award was created by Mike at Ordinary Folk and Danielle at Pink Reviews to help “recognize those people that were [are] exceptionally adept at creating relationships with other bloggers by making an effort to be part of a conversation, as opposed to monologue.”
The rules:
- If, and only if, you get The Power of Schmooze Award, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think, or have schmoozed you into submission.
- Link to this post and Mike so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme
- Optional: Proudly display the ‘The Power of Schmooze Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote.
This award was passed to me from a lady who has become near and dear to my heart, Morgan author of The Process of a Miracle a 30 Day Experiment. Morgan earned her award not only because of her blog, where she shares her days with us through inspirational and insightful words as she looks at rediscovering life, but also through the support and encouragement she shares with me and other bloggers. She is truly a pillar of schmooze.
“The Power of Schmooze” was passed to her from Kemari of Phattitudes fame, the woman single-handedly responsible for my Metromint addiction. ![]()
This award allows new and established bloggers to be recognized not only for the content of their blogs, but also for their ability to interact and connect with their fellow bloggers in real and powerful ways. I was honored to receive such an award from those I respect within my blogging sphere and I am even more honored to pass this award on to 5 more worthy Schmoozers. So without further ado, I pass the torch on to these gifted, wonderful additions to the blogging community.
- Hannah author of Confessions of an Unchurched Believer, a blog for all those who believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, whether they are member of a church or not and especially for those who searching for like-minded believers to fellowship with and find themselves without. Hannah, has been a constant source of encouragement for me and has become my own personal cheerleader.
Through her blog, she offers her readers wisdom and guidance that is scripture-based and heartfelt. She is a true schmoozer. (It’s a good thing, I promise LOL) Congrats and hugs, Hannah. - Shalene is the heart behind Proverbs31WomanWannaBe. Shalene uses the power of her blog to learn and share the Word of God with you. She’s not afraid to admit that her blog is a learning process for herself as well as others as she brings you thoughts on scripture and living. As a fellow blogger, she offers prayers, laughter, understanding, and advice. Shalene, Hannah, and I form the Mutual Admiration Society Sisters (MASS for short, all welcome, Sisters is not gender specific
). - Jeff is the author of Testify to Truth and the webmaster for Digilearning, which offers website hosting and services at very reasonable prices. Without this man’s constant support, advice, and help, this site simply would not exist. He is a friend in Christ and he is a friend in heart. Thank you for everything, Jeff. Now, start blogging more.
- Steve keeps a number of blogs up and running and they are all equally wonderful, but I feel I must draw attention to my favorite, his Christian Humor Blog. Steve’s humor blog is a constant source of chuckles and message ideas for me. Leading a youth group is sometimes tough, but on Steve’s site I find jokes that I know will not only get them laughing, but also get them thinking. They become great conversation starters. Steve is an integral part of the Christian blogging community, not only by hosting several of his own, but becoming part of the network.
- James – My last shout-out is a little different. James hosts a private blog, so therefore I cannot post a link to it, however, I could not list the movers and shakers in my little blog world without giving him mention. (I am hoping, however, that this might encourage him to post comments here with us
) This gentleman is my constant source of encouragement and strength and God uses him in mighty ways in my life. When I question my abilities, he’s the first to say you doubt yourself too much. When I have nothing to say, he lets me know that it’s okay, that I will. When I say something is impossible, he reminds me that nothing is impossible with God. I could not mention people who are supportive to me without mentioning him.
I am thankful for all these people that have become a part of my life and anyone who comes into contact with them would be blessed, therefore I have no problem passing on “The Power of Schmooze” award to them. Congratulations and hugs to you all.

Gee, I’m schmooze-boozled. Guess I should quit writing drafts and finish up some of those 14 ideas I currently have partially written so when I show off my new blogger biceps there’s stuff to read. You would have most certainly been on my list but I’m assuming that since you passed the schmooze bicep to me, that I have to find five new victims, errr worthy recipients of this award. Thanks for the mention, and for the poke to get back to work. Both are appreciated.
I am so beyond honored and humbled, Beverly. I knew we were part of the MASS, but my goodness, I don’t know what to say…. That’s unusual for me, as you well know.
Thank you so very much. All praise, honor and Glory to Him that inspires me.
I find myself (like Shalene), humbly without words! (shocking, yes) I remember the first time I read your blog. I immediately recognized your quiet strength and knew you were someone I wanted on my side! Thank you so much, my fellow sister in Christ and MASS!
May God uphold you in His right hand!!!
May God use the MASS to Glorify His Name!!!
BTW, Go! Go! Go! Fight! Fight! Fight! I will always be your personal cheerleader!!!
You are all the SCHMOOZIEST!!! I love you, all!!
*steals Hannah’s pom poms*
I liked how you wrote conscmoozed…ha ha. I now I’m ridicuosly silly….but that’s why i’m interesting. Congrats on passing on the schmooze girl.
